CAA (SRG)
The role of the CAA’s Safety Regulation Group is to ensure that UK civil aviation standards are set and achieved in a co-operative and cost-effective manner. SRG
must satisfy itself that aircraft are properly designed, manufactured, operated
and maintained; that airlines are competent; that flight crews, air traffic
controllers and aircraft maintenance engineers are fit and competent; that
licensed aerodromes are safe to use and that air traffic services and general
aviation activities meet required safety standards.

Administration (FAA) is responsible for the safety of civil aviation. The
Federal Aviation Act of 1958 created the agency, under the name Federal Aviation
Agency. We adopted our present name in 1967 when we became a part of the
Department of Transportation(USA).
NATS (National Air Traffic Services)
National Air Traffic
Services (NATS) provides air traffic control services to aircraft flying in UK
airspace, and over the eastern part of the North Atlantic. Safety is NATS’ first
and foremost priority but it also aims to provide its service in an efficient
and expeditious way. This year NATS will handle more than two million flights
carrying over 180 million passengers.
Royal Aeronautical Society
The
Royal Aeronautical Society is "the one multidisciplinary professional
institution dedicated to the global aerospace community". The RAeS is the
world's only professional body which caters for the entire aerospace community.
The United Kingdom Flight Safety Committee
The UK Flight Safety
Committee is an unincorporated association of professionals dedicated to the
improvement of Commercial Aviation Safety. Members meet regularly to exchange
safety information and to examine ways to improve safety and to avoid incidents
and accidents.
